Social Media and COVID-19 Rumors

چکیده

This study is intended to identify the public’s attitudes towards spreading misinformation about COVID-19 through social media sites in Jizan region Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Being a descriptive study, it depends on survey approach. The field was conducted using an intentional sample those who follow developments COVID pandemic networking websites. 300 users completed online survey. found high public awareness meaning “rumor,” its effects, reasons for proliferation, and potential motives promoters. Study recommendations include importance confronting rumors by promoting campaigns. These campaigns can emphasize risks individual society as whole directly limiting their spread.
